Fiddle and Guitar. Traditional Irish music plus contemporary compositions and music from other traditions

notes

The album that Kevin has been working on most recently, a joint effort with Cal Scott, is now scheduled for a release date in February 2007. This exciting project, featuring several traditional pieces as well as compositions by both Kevin and Cal, has been developing over the last couple of years. Cal was working on a TV documentary about the Troubles in Northern Ireland ( "The Road to Bloody Sunday") and engaged Kevin in the project as a consultant. When the documentary was done Kevin and Cal continued to meet mainly for the purpose of investigating further some of the various musical possibilities that arose during their collaboration on the TV project. The friendship and musical relationship grew and the decision was made to record some of their ideas just to see where they might lead. This CD is the result of several of those ideas.

Excellent, Irish Fiddle at it's best, it inspires our music, Viv, Paddy, Jamie, and Sean, from Leprechaun Water, Traditional Irish Music Band.

As always, wonderful music from local artists! I think the combination of Kevin and Cal is perfect. I've been learning to play "The Lighthouse Keeper's Waltz," but of course my version is not nearly as lovely as Kevin's. "Evening Prayer Blues" is a departure in style from the other pieces, but the emotion comes through just fine. I can't choose a favorite track: they're all great.

A fantastic collaboration between Kevin and Cal. The instrumentals keep you engaged from the first note. Ireland comes to life...close your eyes and you are transported. A lovely surprise is the side trip to Paris. All tracks are equally wonderful.

  • Excellent instrumental Celtic music

Wonderful lively music, toe tapping music. Really brings out the spirit of Ireland, and with the song, Paris Nights, the spirit of the outdoor sidewalk cafe, perhaps, sipping wine and people watching on the Avenue des Champs-Elysees or under the shadow of the Eiffel Tower. Thank you for my Irish and French memories. When is the next CD coming out?
