The Story so far …..

Buck Taylor was born in Kentucky, USA into a musical family. Music was always in the Taylor household as his Mother was an accomplished piano player and was his first big influence. He sang at his local Church every Sunday with his brothers & sisters, all of whom are gifted musicians and singers in their own right themselves.

A career in the entertainment industry was always a fore runner and so it transpired in the 70’s when Buck and his siblings formed the first “TAYLOR MADE” Band. The early influences of this band was of a Country style and the band was very sought after in those early days. They had that unique style that only a black American can create. It’s called SOUL.

Moving to Boston Massachusetts in the early 80’s, Buck and his Brother, Bird, formed what was to turn out to be an award winning new TAYLOR MADE band. The emphasis now turned away from the Country scene and the new band went on to great success recreating all the favourites of the “Disco-Mania” to the deep seeded Soul of Mowtown’s Motor City era. They won numerous awards along the way and were highly sought after in the Music venues of New York, Boston, Chicago and performed regularly at Caesars Palace in Las Vegas.
In the interim Buck also found time to specialise in many Radio and TV commercials for some of the U.S top stations. His unique singing style which is so closely associated with the King of Soul’s voice, James Brown, won him many admirers and his physical likeness too was a major contributing factor in making his overall “performance” all the more noticeable.

Renowned for his unparalleled vocal ability, Buck Taylor has performed and recorded with many legendary artists including Dan Akyroyd, The Blues Brothers, Aerosmith, Patti Labelle, Martha Reeves & The Vandellas, Jimmy Buffet, New Kids on the Block, Peter Wolf (J. Geils Band), Dr. John, the legendary Memphis based Blues Singer and his first cousin, Johnny Taylor & Livingstone Taylor to name but a few.

Buck’s energetic stage show sends his audiences into a dancing frenzy as he blasts out the popular hits of the likes of Kool & The Gang, Lionel Richie, The Drifters, The Dells, Sam Cooke, Wilson Pickett, Al Green, The Temptations and many more great performers from yesteryear.

Of course none of his shows would be complete without his unique James Brown “Experience”.

Irish audiences have been treated to a unique and powerful Show every time and in fact Buck has rarely been allowed off the stage at the end of any of his performances to date without the sound of “One more Song” ringing in his ears from the very satisfied and eager audiences.

Buck and his brother, Bird, were involved in the music score to the highly acclaimed Hollywood movie, “Fried Green Tomatoes” and recently having attended the James Brown performance at the Olympia Theatre in Dublin, Buck was advised by band members to contact Hollywood. Needless to say, The James Brown Band were really impressed with the likeness of Buck to their employer.!

Recently Buck has won a trip to Los Angeles with the Smithwicks Look A Like competition which was run throughout Ireland. He was entered into the competition by Brennans Lane Pub in Ballina, a venue he plays in every Thursday Night @10pm. Obviously his James Brown likeness is a big factor in this win too !!

Buck Taylor has big credentials behind him and is proving to be a massive crowd pleaser here in Ireland now. Having moved from Boston with his Ballina born wife, Fedelma (nee Mullen) and their children three years ago, he has become one of the best alternatives in the Entertainment business pleasing Pub Crowds, Party goers and Wedding guests, young and old. It’s what he does best in his two hour top class show.

Buck's New Irish "Taylor Made" Band consists of Eddie Lynch (Keyboards), Eddie Lee (Bass, Double Bass & Vocals), Eddie McFarland (Guitars), Ken "Tonto"McDonald (Drums), Steve Hanks (Alto/ Tenor Sax, Flute, Clarinet & Vocals) & Mark Adams (Trumpet & Vocals) Manager: Liam Brennan www.soundmanireland@hotmail.com Website: www.soundmanireland.com
