notes
Buck owens was born Alvis Edgar Owens in Sherman Texas. His family moved to Bakersfield , California, where he went to work in honky tonks. His first recordings were heard by very few, and were recorded at Talley Recording Studio in Bakersfield.
He went on to become one of country musics greatest stars, but never was a member of the Grand Ol Opery, because he did not like the Nashville sound or scene. He later formed a unique sound now known as "THE BAKERSFIELD SOUND".
Here I offer the best of his earliest recordings, which I know you will love.
