notes

See the War in Iraq through a soldier's eyes. This album is the result of two soldiers' experiences from a year spent in Baghdad. When JR Schultz and Nick Brown weren't on patrol, they were playing their acoustic guitars and writing songs dealing with their experiences. Urged by fellow soldiers to record their music, they downloaded a digital recording program from the internet and went to work. By the time they came home in April of 2005, they had written and recorded 13 tracks which are now available on this album.

Each of these songs tells a story you won't see on the news. This album offers a rare glimpse into the thoughts and feelings the soldiers have about the war and of the families they left back home.

This album is a great addition to any collection and will surely prove to be an historical piece of the war in Iraq.

Awesome music. Be honest now Dougie Beckstead, you are not a soldier serving over there. Spare a thought or three for the vulnerable women and children you have sexually preyed on while you listen to those soothing sounds? How many copies of that have you forwarded onto your next targets eh? Google his name for further information. BEWARE of this guy!

  • Fantastic !!!

I ordered the CD while sitting over here in Iraq, believe it or not, I am actually at Mortaritaville (which is not Baghdad but Balad Air Base). I have listened to the CD so many times that I am afraid I have already worn the plastic coating off it. Or maybe its this damn Iraqi dust. Either way, the songs are great and as others have said, they really sum up what it's all about being here. I hope they don't mind, but I used the song "We Hate Terrorists" as the background music for a slide show I did about the work we do on the helipad transporting wounded patients from the helos to the ER. It really summed up our feelings as we've dealt with men, women and even children (America, Iraqi and other nationalities) who have been blown up, shot, and in just plain bad situations. Thanks guys, I really enjoy the CD and have been pushing it on others recommending that they buy it too!

  • True Patriots
    author: SFC Patricia Bear

The IRAQ Unplugged CD is an outstanding example of what true patriots actually go through in the fight in IRAQ. Your songs inspire me to never give up hope when I go to Iraq in January with the 39th. The CD honors all of our courageous fallen soldiers, and we are grateful for the time and thoughtfulness that JR and Nick put into writing these very meticulous lyrics from the soul.

  • Awesome CD

This is a great collection of songs put together by soldiers in their spare time and I had the opportunity to see and hear these songs as they were made. This CD truely reflects the sacrifice made by the men and women who serve their country. We're headed back and I plan on taking this music with me onto the streets of iraq once again. Keep up the good work JR. and Nick.

  • A true reflection of the soldiers serving in Iraq.
    author: Christopher Luzader

This CD is a well made reflection of those serving in Iraq. Every song is moving and tells of the feelings that are experianced by soldiers severing far from home. As a solier just returning from Iraq I found that these men were able to speak what I haven't been able to put into words myself. This CD speaks for all of us where the regular media will not. Thanks guys.
