The inspired collaboration of Jamie Finegan and Lorenda Robinson is the amalgamation of his masterful musicianship and instrumentation and her enticing vocals and poetic lyricism. The groove they’ve created provides the listener with music that feels soothingly familiar to the spirit.
Jamie is a musician’s musician. He composes, arranges, and plays trumpet and piano. His playing credits are myriad and diverse, having recorded, toured and performed all over the world with many great Jazz and blues artists including: Ella Fitzgerald, Dizzy Gillespie and Clarence “Gatemouth” Brown.
Lorenda is a charismatic entertainer and vocal stylist who has collaborated with some of the most promising up and coming talent to hit the rap, jazz and alternative music scenes, including: DJ Spinna and Jigmastas, TK and the Almighty Buck and the Clark Eno Orchestra.
Currently rotating on WKDU 91.7 Philadelphia (Eavesdrop), Brown Baby Girl recently participated in WQCD FM New York and Absolut Vodka’s “New Jazz Artist” series as well as the Hartford International Jazz Festival. Brown Baby Girl consistently 'packs the house’ at numerous venues throughout New York City and vicinity including gracing the stage at Philadelphia’s World Café Live, the world famous Water Club in New York City and Pastis in Hartford, CT.
Brown Baby Girl’s sound is the sound for the forgotten and neglected music lover. It gingerly fulfills the listeners longing for creative instrumentation and delectable vocal styling. It is the next evolutionary manifestation of jazz. It reminds R&B of its roots and re-introduces the concept that in jazz there are no rules. It is in essence, a completely new way of musically being.

Tranquilizing and Exciting
