notes
Pose While It Pops, Barbara Brousal's first full length CD, showcases her stunning voice and her love of sophisticated melody and piercing lyrics.
Co-Producer Sim Cain (drummer for the original Rollins Band, David Poe, and now the re-formed JGeil's band) employs his trademark sonic and rhythmic experimentalism to evoke and unify the varying pop, jazz, folk and hillbilly sensibilities inherent in Brousal's writing and singing.
Brousal's charismatic songwriting has already caught the attention of Nashville rebel Steve Earle and the second track on the record "Soap & Water" was recently recorded by Siobhan Kennedy on his ESquared label.
Rosanne Cash says Barbara is, "A beautiful standout. A real poetic songwriter with a gorgeous, nuanced voice."
Listen to the record to hear smart, catchy pop tunes with inventive lyrics and haunting melodies.

Clean and powerful voice that surrounds you in talent.
author: klydeLike others, I was directed to Barbara's CD via her work on the Dan Zanes and Friends CDs. PWIP offers a blend of folk, rock, and even a little soul that helps to connect the listener to the lyrics. The songs are smart and passionate, giving the audience a way to escape the stressors of life while listening.
gorgeous voice on an album that grows with every listening
author: bruceBeing familiar with Barbara only through her work with Dan Zanes, I purchased this CD. As it turns out, the album is very different from what I was expecting. You know what? Barbara is an amazingly talented woman with a gorgeous voice, and this album is better I could have imagined based soley on her Dan Zanes and Friends work. Pose While It Pops has grown with every listening.
fantabulous

Disappointed. Love her voice. Wish it were recorded more cleanly.
author: L. B.rownI was disappointed. I love Barbara's voice on the Dan Zanes children CDs. I wish her voice were recorded here like it is on those CDs. Her songs are okay, but I was hoping for more.
