notes
In this sophomore release by The Brite Side, the band expands its sound with spacious arrangements. Here, strings and keyboards add considerable atmosphere to their rootsy, yet modern rock sound. Every Night's Another Story is a collection of songs about life, as seen through the eyes of singer Jason Misrahi. With the help of his bandmates, it's a vision that is simultaneously somber and uplifting. For fans of Counting Crows, Van Morrison and any number of the modern British rock bands on the scene today.
BIO:
For all intents and purposes, The Brite Side is now Jason Misrahi. After a 3-year collaboration with a full band in South Florida, he has chosen to migrate back to his native town of New York City. His music has been compared to the likes of the Counting Crows. More recently he's been compared to latter-day Brit Pop, which came about in large part by the influence of the musicians who have surrounded him in the creative process. However, left to his own devices, he's definitely a roots artist who fits in well with the new singer-songwriter revival. At first site, some may think he fashions himself a vagabond bluesman, with the ever present cane, tweed golf cap and ragtag sport jacket. But, that's only partially true. Since he was born with cerebral palsy, the cane comes in handy, even if it is stylish. His condition undoubtedly has an impact on his writing. But what it's really all about is the infectious smile he's known for and the connection he makes with his music. Roots, Alternative Country, Brit Pop... those niches are for others to speculate upon. The fact is though, that Misrahi writes songs of hope, love and pain... all universal themes everyone can relate to.
