Who is CBD?
Paula O'Rourke was the bass player and singer for Southwest/west coast band LIAR, after that act disbanded she focused her songwriting skills into the alt-country solo act TINY. Paula began playing with George Earth of Switchblade Symphony to develop material she had written that was a departure from the sound of TINY. "I wanted to lean a little harder on my personal swords",
Drummer El John Nelson of Poi Dog Pondering and Thievery Corporation joined the group and immediately a fresh passionate chemistry emerged as the three players with very different backgrounds merged, Captain Bringdown.
Now living part of the year in Barcelona Spain, she has colaborated with flamenco artist Martirio for an English version of traditional Coplas.
Paula is currently putting Captain Bringdown down for a siesta as she tours with Eric Burdon and the Animals playing bass and vocals.
