Album Notes

Brigitte London – Biography “I know we are all just where we are meant to be” ( Faith in You - Like a Phoenix) Brigitte London bares everything in her upcoming release. Her roots, her soul and hopes and dreams. Like a Phoenix, with its innate roots based approach is infused with London’s eclectically infectious and powerful blend of blues, soul and country that defies and transcends manmade boundaries as she shares the healing power of music that has profoundly touched her own life. Her style blends traditional yet outlaw influences such as Jennings and Cash along with the vocal power and authority of Etta James and Aretha Franklin. The first album in four years, the energy contained in “Like a Phoenix” is tangible. The songs are as powerful as the voice delivering them. It will be the first of her recordings to be nationally distributed and is already generating significant buzz throughout the musical community. Brigitte London’s talent, and more importantly her persona, passion and professionalism, has intrinsically attracted the most gifted musicians and artists. London’s previous releases have featured Earl Poole Ball (Johnny Cash’s producer/pianist for twenty-five years), Redd Volkert (guitar icon for Merle Haggard) and Texas mainstay Dale Watson. While not everyone who listens to London’s music will have shared the same life experiences, they have shared the same emotions, and that is what truly makes her music universal. London’s music has brought her escape when she needed it and healing when she was ready for it and in turn her hope is that it can do the same for others. Brigitte London’s beginning in this world was in many ways less than ideal. Born in rural Wisconsin was born into virtual isolation. It was fifty-five miles to the nearest school, and many miles from the most simple of amenities such as a grocery store. Growing up in an abusive home, she took refuge in music from the time she was three, and started learning to play guitar and writing songs around age five and was playing in bands by the age of fourteen. Brigitte London’s previous releases “Modern Day West” and “Untraveled Road” chronicle her life journey from a difficult and abusive childhood to the wide open spaces of Texas, that welcomed her home as if she was its prodigal child. London flourished under the warm Texas sun, her magnetic talent and personality attracting the highest caliber of talent the Austin had to offer. She soon found sharing the stage with the likes of Redd Volkaert, Clay Baker, Ricky Davis, Earl Poole Ball and Dale Watson. In turn, London shared her talent and ever growing wisdom with burgeoning singer and songwriters. “Like a phoenix I will rise up, through the smoke you'll hear my cry I will spread my wings over the ashes and I will fly” Like a Phoenix Throughout her career London’s music has been a sequentially a record of her life journey. Like a Phoenix marks her growing acceptance and self value from the mature perspective of a woman comfortable in her own skin. The music is sensual, soulful and substantive as London proves that although she is grounded and inspired by her roots she isn’t confined by them. Her music reaches beyond genre boundaries to touch the heart and soul of its listener. London’s strong songwriting skills continue to evolve and the result is a powerful, healing, emotionally transcending album from the perspective of a woman comfortable with her strengths as well as her softness. “Like a Phoenix” finds London at a place of healing and awareness that will leave the listener breathless at times, hanging on every emotive word while being empowered and touched to the core. Her lyrics are deeply personal and yet London manages to translate the emotions with a heartfelt compassion and intensity that speaks with a universal candor that will make London a force to be reckoned with. The ten originals are all single-worthy material, and the bonus track was recorded wi

The Real Deal

This album shows why Ms. London cannot be labled any one genre of music. She does it all. And she does it well. The first track "The Way I Loved You" shows that she can pour her heart and soul into a track like any of the great soul singers we've have all known and loved for so long, while the last track, "You Asked Me To" shows that she can do a tribute to one of the greatest country artists in the history of country music (Waylon Jennings), and deliver it like nobody else..

Fabulous CD, by a fabulous singer/songwriter!

Each song on this CD touched me in a way that I can't explain. It was as if she wrote those songs for me. She sings of passion, strength, how it feels to love, and lose, and survive. She has a beautiful melodic voice that is so pleasing to listen to, and the songwriting is simply outstanding.
