notes
Australian singer/songwriter Brian Baker has released what is being described as his finest work - a collection of stunning songs entitled, "Prague Radio".
Baker previously performed with Eddie Rayner, the infamous Split Enz and Crowded House keyboard player. Together they created "The Makers", releasing two CDs in the nineties, and touring Australia and New Zealand.
Continuing their relationship Baker and Rayner have collaborated on two songs for "Prague Radio" - "It's All Love" and "Head in the Clouds".
After working on the album for the last 18 months, an elegant, timeless pop record has been produced.
"I set myself limits so as to convey the songs in an open and honest manner - acoustic guitar, accompanied by bass and drums, sparse electric guitar, and layered harmony vocals."
The result is a warm, open sounding CD in the old school of pop music, evoking strong memories of The Beatles and Crowded House.
Prague Radio is Bakers 2nd solo CD, following "The Field" released in 1995. His work also features on the soundtrack to the Australian cult classic movie, "Rikki and Pete", two Makers CDs, (their self titled debut in 1990 and "Hokey Pokey" in the following year), and rock act Big Head Little Body's 1999 release "Bug".
Check this CD out. If you like good songs, strong melodies, and vocal harmonies you'll love it.

excellent
author: docFrom the sound of him, Brian Baker has to be a Neil Finn fan, so hopefully he will not soon tire of the inevitable comparisons. Baker writes gorgeous nuanced melodic pop, complemented by layered harmonies. And each song contains a bonus: Baker is a master of the art of writing a terrific bridge as well. You will not be disappointed.

author: Not Lame RecordingsThe warm acoustic guitar washes over every note and Baker`s Finn-esque croon takes you down on your knees to prepare to be lifted back up to the warm sun breaking down on your pop-starved soul. Embrace tuning into "Prague Radio" and be rewarded with a bit of timeless acoustic-driven pop. Very Highly Recommended!
Prague radio is a genuinely intended, heartfelt effort and it shows.
author: Oz Music ProjectSlanted pop-rock with lashings of twing, and I don’t mean twang I mean twing, Melbourne’s Brian Baker serves up an album of self penned slithers through commercial acoustic guitar based melodic melancholy. Prague radio is a genuinely intended, heartfelt effort and it shows.
