Inspired by a childhood vision and recent art class at Native Women’s Resource Centre, Brenda MacIntyre spent the winter of 2006 in what she calls an “urban vision quest.”
Aboriginal Businesswoman of the Year Launches Spirit Connection CD, Native American drumming, singing and meditation for stress relief and relaxation. What you need to know to make "the secret" really work. Law of Attraction teachings from a Native American perspective.According to MacIntyre, "I started drawing something the night before class, and it was like a chain reaction. I remembered this vision I used to have as a kid, I realized it was linked to another vision, and the meaning of it all exploded into this painting the next day."
MacIntyre called the painting “Spirit Connection.” Over two months of solitude, Brenda created a self-esteem and goal-setting seminar based on the painting and her experiences with the Law of Attraction. During the first seminar, MacIntyre announced a goal to create a studio CD with music, teachings and meditation. The result is the Spirit Connection album.
This is MacIntyre’s 9th CD. But it’s her first solo studio album with teachings, meditations and her signature fusion of Aboriginal drumming and neo soul.
The single mother and survivor of depression, poverty and abuse wanted to offer more than entertainment, because she says “The Law of Attraction only works if you have high self-esteem and you can connect to the power and potential of your spirit.”
MacIntyre’s CD and event were sponsored by Healing Works with Joanne Dallaire, whose approach fosters confidence building strategies, skill development and self reliance, resulting in optimum success. “In the discovery of what is working and what is not, you can facilitate change, through problem solving and responsible behaviour,” affirms Joanne Dallaire.

Brenda MacIntyre a.k.a. Medicine Song Woman, is an energy medicine specialist, visual artist and world class solo singer, hand drummer and inspirational speaker. Her clients and fans include individuals, Aboriginal communities, business teams, universities, schools and health professionals.
Based in Toronto, Brenda does energy medicine treatments worldwide through a visionary distance healing technique. She also does private, semi-private and group Medicine Song Transmission treatments in the GTA (General Toronto Area, Canada). The Juno Award-winning singer performs and speaks across Canada and has been featured nationally on MuchMusic, APTN, OMNI, Vision and TLN.
Brenda does hand drumming/roots/soul performances and offers keynotes and workshops on drumming, leadership, confidence-building and healing. Her career began with a hit on a Florida radio station and a single on a Juno award-winning CD, leading to a nomination for a Canadian Reggae Music Award. Today, Brenda is the author of the forthcoming book Medicine Song, due for release in 2009 along with her next music album of the same name.
Her diverse clients include the Niagara Folk Arts Festival, Bank of Montreal, University of Brandon, the Okanagan First Nation and the Salmon Arm Roots & Blues Festival in BC.
