  • Metal distorted guitars and vocals that cut the air
    author: EarBuzz

earBuzz Review: Metal distorted guitars and vocals that cut the air with a timbre that marries three rock powerhouse voices - Ozzy, Paul Stanley, and Perry Farrel - with lyrics of love, sex, and testosterone - all wound up in a package of 12 tunes for Bradley Gailey's first CD, "You're Gonna Like It". Guitars eat Nugent crunch and the sequenced drum parts, combined with guitar player gut bass, support Gailey's vocals. Track 2, "No Fat Chics", Gailey sings, 'i don't care if you're drunk or straight, who you love when you're on a date, i don't care about beginner's luck, it all comes down to how good she sucks. .i have a problem when I'm drinkin you see, keep the fat chics away from me'. Rock reality. Track 3, "Before I Hang", is an ode to a prisoner on death row - and the rhythm of the vocals along with the chorus is metal magic. The title track, "You're Gonna Like It", is a throwback to 80's hair rock - complete with the acapella-ish chorus mp3'd here as a clip. Track 9, "Leaving", gives us the Jane's comparison - cool. Track 10, in an audible departure from the rest of the CD, has Gailey crooning to a clean and well recorded acoustic guitar in "Smile". We look forward to hearing more.
