notes

If you were around during the 70's, you probably remember the music of Charanga Tipica New York, Benito Sextet, Charanga 76, Joe Quijano... All of them had something in common: Andrea Brachfeld. She was one of the very few female flute players in Latin music at that time. In fact, she was the only one in New York. Andrea performed with Tito Puente, Johnny Pacheco, Machito, Charanga America, Orquesta Broadway and many others.

Andrea's reputation in the New York Salsa and Latin Jazz circles was widely known. Her curriculum from that period of her life is impressive. After almost 2 decades, Andrea Brachfeld comes back with a special recording of all original compositions. Her technique is still impeccable, her melodies, evocative and imaginative, so tender at times. "Remembered Dreams" marks Andrea's serious return to the Latin Jazz scene. She's still one of the few leading female flautists around and her passion for music hasn't diminished a bit. "Au contraire", all this time has provided her with a maturity and a perspective about her music that is clearly reflected in her present project.
