A real Minneapolis band where the songs come first, played in their own twangy, punky style with just enough sugar to make the medicine go down.

notes

Kevin is the first songwriter to be signed by legends Jerry Lieber & Mike Stoller in over 20 years.

He has written with/for Jonny Lang, Kenny Wayne Shepherd, Shannon Curfman, Leo Kottke and many other artists.

This album is a critic's favorite, featuring performances by Jonny and Shannon.

If you like great songs and you aren't hearing them on the radio, here they are.

A real midwestern sound with equal parts twang, garagey punk and sweet pop.

A great Wallflowers kind of sound with their own twangy, punky style.

  • American Rock!
author: Laura T. Lynch of Kweevak.com

Their music is Americana, a melting pot of rock, country, folk, R&B and blues. Bowe writes heartfelt lyrics with subtle religious themes. Kevin has scratchy earthy vocals like Jakob Dylan and he sings with spirit and passion. Restoration is a well-mixed collection of quality songs with expert instrumentation throughout. 'Sault Ste. Marie' has a woeful harmonica, inspiring guitars - including the steel, striking percussion, solid base lines and great storytelling. This strong start sets the tone for the rest of this notable collection. 'Leaving To Stay' features Jonny Lang on the intro guitar, beautiful harmonizing vocals by Shannon Curfman eloquent sounds including more superb steel work and plenty of soul. 'Jefferson Davis Parish' is a multilayered montage of guitars, fiddle, mandolin merging with intense vocals and funky chords mixed in for good measure. Restoration builds on a diverse mix of music traditions to form a complete collection of meaningful rock songs that should appeal to a wide range of listeners

  • Expert songwriter pens for himself at last

Check out www.indiemonkey for the full review... This is an album that wallows happily in the fact it is non-commercial and yet easy to listen to at the same time. This is music driven by the bands own intentions, totally ignoring any thoughts of what will sell, or what is cool. The music is a mixture of many similar styles, each quintessentially American. Blues, Roots, Folk and Rock to name but four.

  • Proof that record companies are clueless
