notes
“The Bostocks” astounded record crowds at this years Tamworth Country Music festival. “The Bostocks” took out the inaugural 2007 Coca-Cola Long Live the lead Break competition. They won a brand new Cole Clark FL2AC guitar and an appearance at the Guitar Heroes showcase in Sydney. “The Bostocks” were also nominated for a Golden fiddle award and got to perform at the prestigious event.
It is rare to find so much talent in just the one family! Hailing from the Gold Coast and growing up among a strong musical environment “The Bostocks” have always had high expectations when it comes to their music. This group of talented brothers and sisters began their musical journey as a band at tender ages. 10 years on and the musical bond between the four is stronger than ever.
The Bostocks have just released their debut album “In the Neighbourhood”. With dazzling electric Violin solos from Rachel, Robbie’s astounding Guitar virtuosity, Sara’s smooth and stylistic bass playing and Brendan’s solid drumming not to mention their warm vocal harmonies.
In 2006 they picked up a golden fiddle award for best new talent and with 13 performances in ten days “The Bostocks” were the talk of the Tamworth.
“The Bostocks” have been selected to perform at this years Gympie Music Muster and also the 2008 Mills Reef festival in New Zealand. This will give “The Bostocks” a chance to express their musicianship and talent as well as promote their original music on an international level.
The Bostocks starting touring at the tender ages of 9, 12, 13 and 15. Several performances with guitar maestro Phil Emmanuel inspired these young musicians to take it all the way. With extensive musical tuition and encouragement “The Bostocks” have always had high hopes and enjoy putting on captivating shows for their audience.
Their musical aptitude is exceptional for a band so young, carrying all the hallmarks of well-seasoned professionals lovingly perfecting their craft. Their music is infectious as is their stage presence and always leaves the audience wanting more. In recent times “The Bostocks” highlights have included supports with touring International Aussie icons INXS, Jimmy Barnes and more recently the legendary Stevie Wright, finally establishing their credentials as an act to definitely watch out for.
The Bostocks have been compared with Fleetwood Mac and The Corrs. Their music and look is fresh, exciting and their original songs delivers a unique feel showcasing virtuosic violin and guitar solos as well 4 part harmonies.
There is a certain buzz around “The Bostocks” and they are rehearsing at great length for their upcoming shows!
