The Borromeo beautifully capture the uniquely French tone colors of the Ravel Quartet and are right up there with the Italiano, Melos and Guarneri Quartet versions. Wonderful transparency and articulation.
Very nice indeed..
author: mariesa-lize etienne usaI love Ravel and I am playing some right now. This is very romantic and sensuous music, and the players on this album play with the highest level of professionalism. Very good record.

author: Mira Finelli, New Age Music ReviewIf you do not care to listen to music like that, please do not call yourself a musician. Even if Ravel is too serious for you, the highest level of musicianship displayed by this amazing string quartet should lift your spirits and make you a happier human being. Excellent CD for anyone who appreciates great music at large!

A most stunning performance, capturing the absolute elegance and lush gorgeousness of Maurice Ravel with fine detail, broad brushstrokes as well as intense energy. With a collective tone that can be appropriately gooey and thick, transparent and sparse as if stretched thinly across a barren landscape and dripping wet with a green aroma, the Borromeo String Quartet's interpretations dance on the fine edge between the unknown and the common. Each work is filled with such color and emotion that it bypasses your conscious listening and goes straight for the deeper, soul-listening, guiding, pushing and steering your imagination to unexplored worlds. Perfection in motion.
