Songwriter/Producer/Musician Boon is a young man with abundant talent and creativity. Boon’s desire is to take his music to audiences around the world. A native of Oakland, California, Boon was raised in a family of musicians and singers who greatly influenced his musical tastes. His parents and family nurtured his interest in music at an early age by exposing him to jazz, jazz fusion, gospel and movie sound tracks which allowed Boon’s creativity in songwriting and producing began to take shape.
Boon enjoys every aspect of the creative process and sites the Yellow Jackets, Wally Badarou, David Foster, Fourplay, Nathan East, Bob James, Pat Matheny, Lyle Mays, Ricky Peterson, Chick Corea, Quincy Jones, Dave Grusin, Don Grusin, Joe Sample, Bishop Walter Hawkins and Michael Franks as his most respected creators of music today. In addition to these artists there are several local artists that have influenced Boon including Joel Smith, Jamie Hawkins, Jonathan Dubose, Steve Kirk, Jason Wright, Derrick Hall, Valerie Trout and Michael Witwer. Some of these artists can be heard on Boon’s latest creations to be included on his first album – “Aliya.”
Boon simply wants to touch people’s lives by sharing his intimate feelings through his musical creation.
