notes

Greg Bonin is a resident of Woonsocket, Rhode Island and has been singing for most of his life.

An award-winning vocalist, Greg placed as a top ten finalist out of a total of 600 male singers at an international competition sponsored by TCT in Orlando, Florida in March of 2003. In July of 2002, he was selected by a panel of 48 talent judges as the first place winner in the adult talent competition at the Talent America Finals in New York City. He also won special recognition as Best Legitimate Male Vocalist at the competition.

Greg has performed in several theatre productions and has played Capt. Von Trapp in The Sound of Music, The Wolf/Cinderella’s Prince in Into the Woods, Bill Sykes in Oliver!, The King in The King and I, Daddy Warbucks in Annie, Harold Hill in The Music Man and many others. He has also been seen (and heard) singing the national anthem for many baseball, basketball, and hockey teams all over New England including the Boston and Pawtucket Red Sox.

As a classically trained singer, Greg has performed in The Marriage of Figaro, The Face on the Barroom Floor, and HMS Pinafore and has had the wonderful opportunity to perform solos in classical concerts such as Faure’s Requiem, Schubert’s Mass in G, and Jepthe.

Greg has toured with Kaleidoscope Theatre in their productions of Beauty and the Beast (Beast – they wouldn’t cast me as Beauty), Sleeping Beauty (King Harold), Jack and the Beanstalk (Narrator/The Giant), and most recently The Emperor’s New Clothes (The Emperor).

In November 2006, Greg will be releasing his 3rd CD titled Simply Christmas.

  • A rich baritone singing perfect songs!
    author: Robert Marks

Greg Bonin picked perfect songs to suit his rich baritone voice. He sings in a classic style, but with a contemporary flair that never gets boring. I also liked the arrangements on all thirteen tracks, which comprise both Broadway and pop songs. I imagine that we'll be hearing much more from this talented vocalist.

  • Searching for a heavenly voice? Here's Greg Bonin.
author: Stacey Anter for The Woman's Page

I recently bought an amazing CD of a local vocalist from Woonsocket named Greg Bonin, an award-winning baritone that will entrance any audience. Greg Bonin's new CD, Just For You, is a compilation of various songs he has performed at so many occasions. His style is reminiscent of Josh Groban and Michael Crawford. Musical theatre is where Greg has been performing for many years and you will find quite a few songs from these musicals on his new CD, such as "Where's the Girl" from The Scarlet Pimpernel and "If I Can't Love Her" from Beauty and the Beast. Greg's baritone voice is perfect for the variety of songs on this CD. Aside from his musical theatre, he performs the Gary Allan country hit "Right Where I Need To Be" with attitude; this is an upbeat song that anyone will enjoy, whether or not you are a country music fan. His heavenly rendition of "To Where You Are" makes the already familiar song so much sweeter, especially at a wedding reception. "You'll Be In My Heart" is a soothing tune, which is from Disney's Tarzan movie, and gives artist Phil Collins some competition. If you are online, check out www.gregbonin.com and listen to a few snippets of his songs on this CD. On his web page, you will also see where Greg has performed in the past and where he will be appearing so that you can judge for yourself. He has won awards and competed strongly in many competitions, including first place winner in the 2002 Talent America finals in New York City.
