notes
Before "California" and "Wire" by The Coyote Problem, there was "Frame" by Peter Bolland. Before going on to found The Coyote Problem, Bolland created "Frame", an album full of folk and alt-country meditations on loss and longing. For some Coyote Problem fans, "Frame" is still a favorite...
After earning a rare and coveted four star rating in England's premier music magazine "Uncut", Peter Bolland's CD "Frame" went on to garner many more rave reviews and a nomination for Best Americana Album of 2003 in the San Diego Music Awards. Peter Bolland and his band The Coyote Problem (2004 and 2005 nominees for Best Americana Band) fall back into the loving arms of this truth: the best way to make music is to trust your instrument and trust each other and let the simple stripped down sound of guitars and drums and the human voice crack open the mysterious center of things. Sounding like Neil Young, Tom Petty, Jackson Browne and Lucinda Williams, The Coyote Problem play shows up and down the west coast. Visit them online at www.thecoyoteproblem.com

Only Peter Bolland can make one's six senses come alive
author: Ceciliawith his music, which is awesome, the design of the cover is very well-thought, too. I cannot wait to buy and enjoy your next CD!
right up there with my all-time favorite records
author: Craig YerkesIn a car filled with CD's by people like Jackson Browne, Emmylou Harris, Tom Waits...etc, etc, this is a CD that I come back to AGAIN and AGAIN. Frame is truly one of my very favorite records of all time. "Orion", "Was I Wrong", "Dirty Bones", "Where Would I Go" and "Losing You" are the perfect blend of country/rock hooks, thought provoking lyrics and beautiful, catchy melodies. If you have fond memories of riding down the highway in a VW with the windows down, listening to "Take it Easy", just buy the CD....NOW!!
All singer/songwriters should sound this good!
author: Frank WilliamsonIf you're a fan of The Eagles, Jackson Browne, Gram Parsons or just an alt-country freak you've just hit paydirt. The songwriting, musicianship, arrangements, and Peter's inimitable vocals make this a must have CD. There's no introspective navel gazing on this CD. No directionless drivel masquerading as profundity. Just straight up, honest lyrics laid over timeless, rootsy music. Peter has the ability to craft songs like Dirty Bones and Coronado Bridge that just seem to build and build and somehow spiral back on themselves like an Escher drawing. Truly beautiful work.
Piercing lyrics, guitar know how, lap steel soul. Beautiful.
author: BellavonnaThis thought provoking CD had me jumping right into it, remembering and filling in the gaps, connecting to myself. Bolland invites us to enter his music with mournful lap steel, wailing harmonica, and words that evoke basic human questioning and tug at universal heartstrings. Lyric junkies rejoice! Aside and equal to this esoteric bent is a damn good band. Each musical element is well framed and developed, providing a full crisp sound throughout. Guitar enthusiasts, sit up and pay attention. Bolland's guitar talks blues, rock, and delicate intricacy with equal fluency.
