notes

Gangway and strike the ruddy wreckage away for the third album from
Captain Bogg & Salty... PRELUDE TO MUTINY.

This is not a CD for land lubbers and powder monkeys. This is a CD
that dives all the way down to Davy Jones Locker and never comes up
for air. So Hoist the Grog and join the fearless crew of the Pollywogg
on a CD that was carved from the keel up for seasoned buccaneers...
properly warned, ye be, says I.

Since 1998 Captain Bogg & Salty has emerged as the ultimate, all ages,
pirate-themed rock band. The band tours extensively on the west coast
with “library rock shows” for the kids, family fair and music festivals,
and many a tavern, pub, and rock club for the “old salts”. Captain Bogg
& Salty’s second album, the 2005 release PEGLEG TANGO, received rave
reviews in Entertainment Weekly, Nick Jr., and Parenthood magazines.

But now the crew of the Pollywogg is back with an album of
sea anthems, mermaid laments, pub pirate songs, and battle
tunes of merry mutiny.

PRELUDE to MUTINY features nautical rock versions of old standards
like DRUNKEN SAILOR, as well as original songs like the literary epic
MUTINY of the HISPANIOLA, and the black-powder power ballad
DEAD MEN TELL NO TALES.

Aye, it be worth a listen mates, a might pleasant to de ear, It be filled with a fine blend of polka like rock, rockabilly, a weird rappish-rock thing, a sterotypical pirate vocal taking a Disney mermaid tune to an interesting place-ya' gotta hear it if ye be of a jovial mind. This be a good c.d. and me kids loved it too, there be also a beutiful version of the traditional drunken sailor. -Give it an ear!
