REVIEWS:

“Blazing and beautiful. Burning and elegant. Subtle and expansive. Unique and timeless. Malone contains multitudes of rhythm, soul, jazz, blues, smoke and magic. He’s a pianist’s pianist; it sounds as if he’s slept inside a baby grand for years, so intimate is he with the alphabet of the ivories. [Born Too Late] is one for the ages.” AMERICAN SONGWRITER

“Take Tom Waits, Steely Dan, Dr. John, Louis Armstrong, and Harry Connick Jr., put ‘em in a drink shaker, add sweetener, and pour out Bob Malone…Though a bluesy streak runs through these songs, Malone, like Mose Allison, uses blues as a stop on the way to the jazz and elegant pop music that fuels his muse….Nimble playing and smart, sassy lyrics. There’s plenty to like here.” BLUES REVIEW

“Though he came from Jersey and has made L.A. his home for 15 years, the growly voiced, witty singer/songwriter crisply embodies the soul of New Orleans. Malone is truly a blast to listen to. He’s an exciting piano pounder, a heartfelt vocalist, and an insightful lyricist who deserves a wider audience.” MUSIC CONNECTION

“Another well written, well produced, well arranged Bob Malone album that includes great depth and texture, and excellent performances. A complex yet easily appreciated work of musical art.” ROOTS MUSIC REVIEW

  • Another Malone Masterpiece
    author: Paul Weaver

Bob's music and lyric writing are mature and poignant as ever and yet remain fresh and candid. I have not heard piano playing as good as his anywhere either.

  • Thanks for keepin' our roots alive.

Impeccable piano and arrangements-no need to make a special trip to the Big Easy when you've got this bad boy in the CD player...

  • Great as usuall
    author: Martin Hannemann, Germany

I am a fan of Bob's Music for a very long time now. It is a pitty nobody knows him here in Germany. But there is one reason, there is this very unique music on the one hand and on the other hand its the words, which are sometimes hard for me to understand, and even harder to read, because when you older... well lets not talk about that, enjoy life, enjoy this great music from a very nice man, whom I had the pleasure to meet once. This album is the next step in a sequence of albums of a fine musician, who has settled down in life, which gives him power to write great songs, make fantastic arrangements and tell great stories. Martin
