notes
There are 6 different artists on our CD, THINKING ABOUT BOB DYLAN.
Jack Tannehill and QuarterMoon/Kate & Paul are from New Jersey. Will Hoppey is from New York State. Danny Schmidt and Rex Foster are in Texas and Norman Lamont is from Scotland.
Each of our artists have their own distinctive sound and songwriting style. All of the original songs written by the artists appear on other releases by the respective artists.
Our title cut, "THINKIN' ABOUT BOB DYLAN", was released by Rex Foster in 1992 and an interesting story tells how Bob Dylan actually purchased Rex's CD when he heard this song playing on the radio in San Antonio a number of years ago.
Chuck Pyle says, "Rex Foster has the four winds in his voice and Mother Earth in his heart, and when he puts it to music, I believe it"
A review of Jack Tannehill from The Star-Gazette says: "Tannehill is saved from self absorption because he says so many things to which others can relate...intensely personal to the point of being confessionals, with the listener as his priest" ---Bill Nutt, music critic and DJ on WNTI
A review of Danny Schmidt reads: "His guitar playing is nothing short of superlative, and his calm gentle demeanor evokes the wisdom of an old-growth forest."
~ James D. Graham, the Cville Weekly"
A review of Kate & Paul reads: "Warm personalities, tight harmonies and sterling guitar, show off well-crafted melodies and lyrics... " ...Ralph Litwin, Horses Sing None of It - Note: QuarterMoon includes Kate and Paul plus Jamie Coan and Jim Gilheany -- for more info visit www.kateandpaulband.com
A review of Will Hoppey says: "Will Hoppey pours his heart out to you with one song and is an incredibly hard rocker with the next. Regardless, he will take that song and play it to it's fullest with a ferociousness that really comes through in his live performance." -Stella Miller, RHYTHM AND NEWS
And of Norman Lamont we read: "A man with an unmistakable lyrical voice - an intriguing mix of unrequited yearning and quirky humour - Norman Lamont is a songwriter par excellence." ...Be Glad fanzine autumn 2001
