  • BMZ Live at the Winchester

    This double live CD set is so good, that after hearing it ONCE, my wife bought another one for herself without even telling me - because she thought I'd never let it out of my sight and wanted her own. She was right. I can't add anything more than that to the reviews already written. It is good enough to buy twice.

  • A MUST For your music collection

    Cleveland band BMZ consists of the powerhouse trio of Jim Bacha, Mike Misiak, and Jerry Zsigo. Alone, the three musicians have been part of the Cleveland rock scene for decades as members of some of the most popular bands during their times. Together, the three have created a rock trio that few in the Greater Cleveland area can match. BMZ came together as a group because the members of the band were all looking to do something musically and had nowhere to turn to fill that desire. With Jim Bacha on bass guitar and vocals, Michael Misiak on drums and vocals, and Jerry Zsigo on guitar and vocals, the musicians have created a solid rock band. In 2005, BMZ released their first album entitled "The 2 is Silent". After the success of that album, the group went back into the studio to record their second release "Two" in 2006. It was after the release of "Two" that the band decided to take their best material and attack the songs in a live setting and record the resulting show for future release. That resulting show took place on March 10th, 2007 at the Cleveland, OH concert venue, The Winchester. The band has taken the recorded show and put it out on a double CD album, entitled "BMZ Live at The Winchester". Previous to the date of the concert recording, the band had recorded and released two albums as a four-piece outfit. The new CD features the band in its current three-piece power trio line-up. The difference is definitely noticeable; and it's a change for the better. As a trio, the band is tighter and the songs rock harder. Having recorded the first two albums in the studio, "BMZ Live at The Winchester" shows that the real magic happens onstage. Part of the experience of listening to a live album comes from not only listening to the performance by the group, but also listening to the interaction of the audience with the band. The audience that showed up that night for the recording helps make the live experience come through for the audience listening at home. The best example of band/audience interaction on the album comes right at the beginning of the concert as the band is introduced onto the stage: The crowd cheers loudly to let the band know they are there for a great show and the band answers back with a great instrumental entitled "Let It Happen" that seems to convey the message that the band is happy for the audience's support. Throughout the 2-hour concert of high-voltage power rock, BMZ shows that with time comes experience, and with experience comes talent. Jim Bacha, Mike Misiak, and Jerry Zsigo have the experience and the talent, as "BMZ Live at The Winchester" definitely shows. If you like power rock, this album is a MUST for your music collection.   • Cleveland Rocks!

    The classic rock power trio is alive and well and living in Cleveland. You know -- and still love -- that sound: wailing guitar, rumbling bass, stomping drums and soaring vocals. But BMZ does a nice job of keeping the style fresh, partly because almost all the tunes here are originals. So does the fact that this is a live recording, with crisp acoustics and an enthusiastic crowd that's cheering all the way. You'll hear the influences, including such venerable bands as Cream, Zep and The Who, as well as such Midwestern stalwarts as the James Gang and Grand Funk Railroad. The musicianship is top-notch, too. Jerry Zsigo could give Eddie Van Halen a run for his money, Jim Bacha is all over the place on bass, and Michael Misiak definitely registered on the Richter scale during this gig. What are you waiting for? It's time to crank it up!
