notes
"the 6 songs off "Burn by Burn" are magnificant pieces, perfectly constructed to face any metal or hard rock fan out there." - Underground Society Webzine
"Burn by Burn" is Brian Marquis' 6-song debut offering as a singer/songwriter showing the broad spectrum of styles and influences he has acquired through the early part of his career.
After playing in bands since the age of 13, switching from drums to guitar to vocals, Brian decided it was time to take a break from the group effort and create something that was of his own vision. So a road trip ensued and the new endeavour began.
There were too many distractions at home and writer's block had started to set in so Brian decided the best way to do this thing was to remove himself from his regular environment, in the hills of Northwestern Connecticut, and go somewhere he could focus his energy directly on this project. In calling upon his good friend and fellow musician, Joshua Jesty of This Is Exploding, they recorded the EP in 2 weeks at Jesty's home/studio just outside of Cleveland, Ohio.
"Burn by Burn" contains 6 songs that reveal the events of this young songwriter's life leading up to it's release. Relationships, the working world, and youthful frustration inspired the material for the songs that would make up the EP, but it was Marquis' dogged determination and blind ambition that fueled his very first solo flight.

A violent explosion of rock vocals and guitar with a touch of sultry reflection.
author: Elaine PodulkaWhile we all await the return of Brian Marquis onto the scene, 'Burn by Burn' suffices to add flavor to my music library, combining the skills essential to good songwriting with the energy and talent it take to make music worthwhile. Brian has succeeded in making me feel drunk, high, angry, sexy, lustful and vile all in the same 26 minutes. I highly recommend this album to people who are looking for a combination of solidarity and liquidity in their library. CHECK IT OUT.
excellent first ever
author: Varla MagazineThis is the first effort of this young ct to boston transplant berkley school graduate songwriter. The songs on here are very strong and creative and whats most impressive is that mr. marquis was the only musician on the whole recording!! Taking on the role of playing every instrument thats a 4 star rating in itself. The music is a nice blend of the seattle sound while brian still manages to add his own thing. Think Faith No More Meets Stone Temple Pilots and velvet Revolver. keep an eye out for this yound one
