Ron Jarzombek - guitars: The initiator of BLOTTED SCIENCE, Ron has long been hailed as one of the most singularly unique guitarists and brilliantly creative forces of the progressive vanguard. First coming to the world's attention via WATCHTOWER's seminal 1989 tech thrash masterpiece, 'Control & Resistance', Ron further stunned prog connoisseurs with his abstract 90's outfit SPASTIC INK, put his signature stamp on the acclaimed GORDIAN KNOT debut album, and has toured the US, Europe, and Japan with fellow guitarist MARTY FRIEDMAN of Megadeth fame.

Alex Webster - bass: Recognized as one of the premier bassists in extreme metal through his frenzied work with long running death metal icons CANNIBAL CORPSE, Alex was immediately up for the challenge of what would shape into BLOTTED SCIENCE when first contacted by Ron in 2005. Not only did Mr. Hammer Smashed Bass turn out to be the perfect deathtoned counterpart to Ron's patented madness, resulting in a heavily collaborative effort during the writing stages, Alex also delivers a jawdropping performance and gets to stretch musically beyond what die-hard fans have come to expect.

Charlie Zeleny - drums: The last member to join the three-pronged alliance, Charlie was well prepared to claim the vacant BLOTTED SCIENCE drum throne following the departure of both original skinsman Chris Adler (Lamb of God) and then Derek Roddy (Hate Eternal, Nile). A member of fledgling experimental tech metal triumvirate BEHOLD...... THE ARCTOPUS and drummer-of-choice for Dream Theater keyboard whiz JORDAN RUDESS, Charlie came through under the gun and brings incredible dexterity as well as a fearless no-holds-barred approach to the project.

    Take elements of death metal, power metal, improv jazz, modern rock (ala Steve Vai/Satch) and you have Blotted Science. Great theme, great music. Fans of Electrocution 250 and Electro Quarterstaff would be happy. Take those two and trim 'em down and you have Blotted Science. Would love to hear more blast beats and less weed-lee'n. A more direct jam version of a metal blender.

    Based on the members of this band, it sounds like what you would expect. A little bit of Cannibal Corpse, a little bit of Spastic Inc/Watchtower, and even a little hint of Atheist/Cynic fusion mixed in. It's all instrumental, which is a good thing. It leaves the listener to use their imagination as to what they would like the vocals to sound like. Overall, an excellent album.

    I don't know if I have the right to rate this yet because I haven't bought the album yet. All that I've heard is the samples, and I have to say that Blotted Science is one of the most incredible bands I have ever heard!!! They have that special sound that only a few bands have. I love it!!!!!! But to me the second best part about this band is that they are instrumental. Which means, If your 13 like me, than your mom won't get ticked off about bad lyrics like Cannibal Corpse. I am SO buying this. My headphones will never leave my ears again.

    This CD hasn't left my player in 2 months. This is the single scariest recording I've ever heard, not only in terms of sheer technical acumen and superhuman dexterity, but in terms of production. Turn this up in your car and it will vibrate apart, but you won't miss a note. Ron J. & company deserve something singular for this achievement, but I really don't know what could do justice to it. Wait! I know! SCADS OF LOOT!!! Too bad musical density isn't dollars, or Ron & Co. would be lighting cigars with c-notes!!! Hail!!!

    Blotted Science continues Ron Jarzombek's streak of fantastic releases. Second only to the Spastic Ink debut in this writer's opinion, Blotted Science shows Ron taking a heavier, grittier approach to his technical insanity. Webster's and Zeleny's contributions are great, although sometimes less noticeable behind the fantastic riffs Ron has created. If you like music that takes talent to perform and insanity to create, Blotted Science should be atop your list of releases to buy this year.
