The long awaited debut CD of Anthony Blea y su Charanga ( formerly known as Charanson)is an instant classic.Featuring some of the hottest young musicians in the salsa music scene today. This music is great for dancing as well as listening.Once you listen you'll be hooked.Combining the traditional Cuban charanga sound(violin , flute) with a driving horn section, Anthony Blea y su Charanga will satisfy any true music lovers fantasy, wheather your a salsa fan or not. There's some great playing demonstrated on this CD (Jimmy Bosch-Trombone, Alfredo DeLaFe-violin, Bill Ortiz-trumpet, Anthony Blea-violin etc...)you gotta hear it.
This is not your run of the mill comercial salsa, this is a band with a personality and a unique sound. The combination of the great arrangements and the musicians makes this a world class band. Check it out. More to come.
Sincerely, Anthony Blea

HOT SALSA
author: Carol KatsulisThis is such a hot CD. Saw the group recently in Santa Cruz and just had to have their music. I would buy anything Anthonly Blea put out. Great for dancing!!!
was what i expected and more.
author: Jeaninei heard the first song at a club several months ago and my partner and i danced our socks off! we asked the dj who the song was by. the next day we tried to find the cd with no luck. finally, months later we foud it.... and it's been well worth the wait!
I love this CD
author: Alexa Weber MoralesI just bought this at the San Jose Jazz Festival. I think the opening track is a perfect choice to set off this grooving, lilting, super-danceable charanga sound. Orlando Torriente's clear voice soars over Anthony Blea's beautiful violin and totally locked-in percussion. I dig the danzon, too. Great variety, very well put-together as an album. Me encanta!
Wow!
author: MarkI love the music on this CD, and it is SUPERBLY played and, notably, recorded. The sound is just fantastic. My favorite is the title track...if anybody knows any latin/salsa out today that swings harder than this, I gotta know about it.

Great music! These sounds bring back many memories.
author: ChelaThis CD is great. Original music........hearing this music brings back old memories of street fairs in San Francisco's Mission District and Dolores Park. Back in the 70's, it was cool! Good job guys!
Hot, swinging Charanga is what you get here.
author: CarlitoI miss the Charanga sound, especially from the 70's and 80's. As soon as I came across Anthony Blea's CD, I could not hold back! The sounds on the CD are hot and swinging. My favorties are: Tumba Randy, Cero Gauperia and La Cintura De Maria. If you long for the exciting sound of Charanga, you must have this CD! I await Anthhony's next release.
Badasss!
