Improv Jazz and Phat Funk with a DJ to move your bottom parts.

notes

Electronic but organic.
Base level FUNK with intellegent melody and orchestration. Minimal non-traditional quintet instrumentation.
Elements of Hip Hop, Improvisational Jazz, Electronica, DJ and even a pinch of oddly phrased Bossa Nova.
BLAZE delivers the smooth yet raw goods.

drums and sampler: Brannen Temple
bass: Yoggie
trumpet: Ephraim Owens
tenor and baritone sax: Philippe Vieux
turntables: Nick Nack

This disc offers you a view into the current state of cross cultural, improvisational music. Without boring you with cliche' melodies Night Sangin' remains adventurous like aggressive east coast jazz and it's also easy to hear on repeated listens.

  • Great CD but needs more variety on the turntables

Great album! I love Blaze's fusion of various musical styles. My only critique of the album is the repetitive use of the turntables - other than that it was a great effort. Thanks Sean
