Acclaimed for her radiant voice and extraordinary stage presence, Nadya Blanchette sings throughout Canada and worldwide. Outside Canada, she has been invited in Europe, USA, Japan, South Africa and China for concerts, recitals and prestigious international events (UNESCO, MONACO'S GRAND PRIX F1, PGA's resident's Cup, Lieutenant-Governor, NHL playoffs...)
A multi-faceted artist, she is remembered for her compelling performance the Ave Maria at the state funeral of Pierre Trudeau, broadcast on all Canadian radio and television networks. With Cirque du Soleil, Nadya Blanchette performed in nearly 500 shows as a dazzling operatic diva in Germany and Monaco.
Invited with top Canadian orchestras, Nadya Blanchette sang with the Calgary Philharmonic Orchestra, I musici de Montréal and Orchestre Métropolitain. On the opera scene, she was an unforgettable Mimi in Puccini's La Bohème, acclaimed by the press. Her opera repertoire includes roles such as Micaëla in Bizet’s Carmen, Massenet’s Manon, Liù in Puccini’s Turandot, Pamina in Mozart’s Magic Flute and Marguerite in Gounod’s Faust. On the contemporary music scene, Nadya Blanchette has premiered numerous works of Canadian and American composers.
Nadya Blanchette founded À tout chant, an ensemble performing original shows for voice and chamber orchestra created in a new, whimsical way. Accompanied at the piano, by an orchestra or with a soundtrack, Nadya Blanchette always offers a compelling performance, filled with charm. She is regularly broadcast on CBC.
While obtaining a Master’s Degree in Voice at the Université de Montréal, Nadya Blanchette won numerous awards among which the Prize for Best Performance of a Canadian Work at the Montreal Symphony Orchestra Competition, the Second Prize at the Stepping Stone of the Canadian Music Competition, the First Prize of the Mount-Royal Symphony Orchestra and was a winner of the Canadian round of the Metropolitan Opera Auditions.
