    This CD took me back to Ireland. Rocky Road has been done by many but The Blaggards got it right!!! Every song is kick ass but Botany Bay, Foggy Dew will get into your soul if you have ever been to Ireland or ever wanted to go. Love these guys!!!

    Spent a weekend in San Antonio, and the high point of the weekend was hearing Blaggards in an Irish bar on the Riverwalk. Music great, great vocals, and a splendid time is guaranteed for all! CD is best when played LOUD!

    Saw a Blaggards show at the Houston Press Music Awards Showcase on July 30th and was just blown away by this group. Ordered a cd the next day and I've enjoyed it ever since! Can't wait to see another Blaggards show! They ROCK!!!!

    the cd was damn good. i wouldnt say they are better than flogging molly, but they are great. some of the songs reminded me of the pogues, and the folsom prison blues cover was damn good.

    I have never had the chance to see this band in person, being that I used to live in Houston, but didn't hear about them until I moved out to California. I have some friends that have seen them though and they say that they are really fun live. I didn't go out looking for them, but they found me over myspace one day. Since I had heard of them through my friends I decided to check them out. Loved what I heard on the computer....couldn't help but to buy the cd.....definately one of the best purchases I have made. Bloody Awesome!!!!

    are you kidding me? I have MUSLIMS at my job singing drunken sailor with me! They cant get enough of it. I used to think Dropkick Murpheys ballads and standards were the shit, now I know so much better! How can anything this cool come from Texas, thats all I want to know, I think these guys are really from Seattle, the epicentre of PIRACY AND HOOLIGANISM! If you dont buy this disc then were gonna shave your balls with a rusty razor!

    When the Blaggards contacted us about getting their music on our show we thought that it was just another celtic rock band that we would just play once and have our growling audience tell us to never play again. Since we received this disc, not only were we extremely wrong, but since we played one track on our show the request lines exploded. "Standards" is as it says in the name... Patrick Devlin's growling vocals and grinding guitar, Brian Vogel's crashing and smashing on the drums, Chad Smalley's great vocal harmony and bass work, and one of the best damn violin playing I've heard on a independent release from Turi Hoiseth just compliment each other tremendously on this disc. If you want a disc that makes Flogging Molly look like a bunch of nancy boys... then you want to check out the Blaggards.

    I saw the Blaggards at Molly Maguire's and I just had to buy the CD... The CD was almost as good as the bands live performance....almost. There was something lost in translation from live to my stereo system. I still listen to it, and am very very happy that I purchased this CD. I would do it again, but I think the Blaggards should come out with some kind of live CD or DVD so others not in Houston or Austin can appreciate what it is to be at a live Blaggards concert... BLAGGARDS ROCK!!!

    My dear, sweet, sainted mother used to sing Prison Love Songs and Suspicious Minds to me to lull me to sleep, but her version of Rocky Road to Dublin was eerily similar to the version Blaggards do on this wonderful album. Raise a pint to Blaggards, they keep the Irish music alive. Slainte!
