Hard rock stoner metal

notes

The time is upon us. In this era where musical substance is dominated by trends, Black Moon stays true to perfecting the sound they have conceived. Three teenage musicians from Eastern Pennsylvania drop speeding riff after speeding riff leaving you battered... and liking it! Crafted with monster riffs and doom trodden lyrics, Black Moon has wielded forth an album reminiscient of early thrash pioneers while adding their touches of UK Punk Rock, Stoner Rock, and British Metal. All of this creeps into the songs defining Black Moon's Metal/Punk hybrid sound of this full length debut. Two years of evil, intense, and energetic live shows helped to shape the sound the trio threw down in the studio for this self titled debut out now on DRP & Overdose On Records. Keep an eye on these kids, this is just the beginning. A great introduction into a band that may be shaking things up in a big way, real soon.

Mostly a speed-punk/metal record with uncharacteristically laid back vocals, is high-energy embodied, with rumbling lows and squealing highs. The surprisingly slower Into Forever shows off the bands talent for riff-based tunes that aren’t at blazing speeds, and the faithfulness to headbangability is impressive.

  • Sabbath on speed!

What a great find! This power trio sure know how to rock. Imagine early Metallica on speed, like Black Sabbath and Motorhead with a singer with a snotty nose.

  • Metal the way it is supposed to be!!
