notes

Breakin' Bread With The Devil was produced by Chris Johnson (Evanescence, Goldfinger, Josh Todd) and Anthony Valli (former Crazy Town guitarist). The album was recorded at Ivy Lane Music and Trouble Valli Studios both located in Hollywood during January and February 2008. Johnson also produced the band’s debut, a tribute to Bianca Halstead of Betty Blowtorch, titled After The Mourning. “Tony West is a real as it gets,” Johnson explains. “His lyrics reflect the beauty and tragedy of life in Hollywood with all of its overdoses, love affairs, births, deaths and scam artists. In the studio I challenged the band to be raw, stripped down and brutally honest with their music. They are primal, with nods to early Jane's Addiction and Seattle's Mother Love Bone. Guitarist Carmine D’Amico has encyclopedic knowledge of punk, metal and hard rock and brings a rebellious angsty attitude to the music.” Johnson concludes ”Blacklist Union is pure passion, pure aggression and dark sexuality.”

Top rock critics and metal magazines internationally praise the band. England’s Metal Hammer Magazine declares that they’re “arrogant swagger with a hard on.” Metal Edge’s review of their debut album enthuses "Embodying hard rock from first note to last, the captivating album displays the quintet's trademark riffs, commanding melodies and emotional lyricism." Music Connection recently covered the band live and writes “…[Blacklist Union] delivers a dependable, driving sound and a good time.” While Hollywood rag, All Access Magazine, explains "Blacklist Union regularly plays and headlines the A-List Hollywood Clubs because of their talent, enthusiasm, and ability to draw fans."

Blacklist Union are Tony West on vocals; Carmine D’Amico on lead guitar ; Nicky Shad on rhythm guitar; Blitch on bass; Sean Davidson on drums. The ten tracks on Breakin' Bread With The Devil are 1. “Breakin Bread With The Devil,” 2. “Wicked Love Song,” 3. “Feel Me,” 4. “Say Hello,” 5. “Come Inside,” 6. “Kiss The Monkey,” 7. “Bleed For Me,” 8. “Sixty-Five Steps Away,” 9. “Liars Cheaters & Thieves” and 10. “King Of Fools.” Visit the band online at myspace.com/blacklistunion

It's good stuff. All it took after the last album (mourning), was an E-mail that let me know they had a new one. I ordered the same day. You won't be disappointed with this CD. Easily worth $10.

The best follow up ever. Music wise is slick as hell. Vocals are off the hook. Lyrics are deep and meaningful. Ever track on this cd is killer. Well worth the doe. These cats are a band that will last the test of time. ROCK ON!
