notes
Dave Blackledge was born in northeast Pennsylvania in the US. He experienced a "slightly troubled childhood that turned into a slightly troubled older childhood." As a Marine Helicopter crewman serving in Vietnam, Blackledge decided that the best way for him to cope with turmoil was to make fun of it, and he's been doing just that since those days. In the 70's he played with bands Durango and 3 Days Late, he totally forgets where he was in the 80's, but recollects that in the 90's he started to again "play well with others" (a term never written on his school report cards). In 2001 he released a solo album "Straight From the Gut", a collection of spoofs, flat out funny and flat out sad songs. Since then he's released 4 more solo albums including "Corned Beef ReHash" which includes "some new, some redone and some hash." Blackledge has been rated near or at the top of comedy genre charts on online digital music sites and due to this success in digital downloadable music he has garnered a cult fan base. As Blackledge says "I have 7 fans in England, 23 in Australia, 9 in Canada and 31 in the US.. but it's kinda hard to get them all together at the same place on the same night." Dave Blackledge dubs his music "dramady" .. the humorous side of real life drama, heavy on the sarcasm, light on the love. Steve Miller, WritersDen 2004
