notes
Bittersweet and Briers has been performing since 1992 at various festivals, reenactments, dances and more recently, at Conner Prairie, a living history museum. Each Christmas The Conner Prairie by Candlelight tour portrays the holiday traditions and celebrations of Prairietown residents. For this album, the band chose carols that reflect the cultures represented at Conner Prairie: German, Scottish, English, French and American. Carefully researched liner notes give information on all the songs. Several staff members of Conner Prairie added their voices to some of the tracks.
Bittersweet and Briers consists of Sherri Bonham, guitar and vocals; Carolyn Moses, hammered dulcimer; Roger Wright, guitar and vocals; Julie Hughes, Irish whistle, mandolin and mountain dulcimer; David Moses, percussion.
