notes
Sam is back in 2005 with his third full-length release Oxygen. Featuring John Sands (Aimee Mann) and Brad Gunyon on the drums, Peter Adams (MichaelPenn, Tears for Fears, Tracy Bonham) and Owen Fegan (Rubyhorse) on keyboards, Amy Miles on backing vocals and Sam's long-time partner Dan Green on the bass, Oxygen is a collection of 10 brand new songs recorded over the last year in NYC and, thanks to an internet collaboration with Peter Adams, Los Angeles.
here's what the press said about sam's last two albums:
From Harp Magazine
"Sam Bisbee's lyrics are insightful, poetic and humorous when read on their own, but they are easy to overlook against the catchy musical-clouds-of-pop backdrop of High which has an ambiguous '80s retro feel without being redundant of anything. Stylistically chartering a meeting point between new wave, hip-hop and pop/rock, this is one of the better and more original suprises you are likely to come across this year." - Tyson Schuetze
From The Boston Globe
"Pick up his sensational CD, High, so when you inevitably find yourself gushing about Bisbee's impeccable pop smarts and juicy hooks, you'll know what you're talking about" - Jonathan Perry
From The Village Voice
"Bisbee plays solid, lyrical rock, High, is easily his best work yet." -- Aber
(Choices)TimeOut NY
"High, the new CD by Sam Bisbee, reveals the singer to be a fine song craftsman"
From the Daily News Tribune
"High on 'High': ...an album that makes an eloquent case that Bisbee deserves more attention than he's gotten. Grade: A-" - Alexander Stevens
From Billboard Magazine
"Sam on the Move. Sam Bisbee is currently gathering critical praise for his self-made CD, Vehicle, which is marked by clever lyrics, crisp guitar-rock instrumentation, and subtle, yet insinuating hooks."
From New York Daily News
"Vehicle is a gleaming sapphire of an album." - Issac Guzman
From Paper Magazine
"Our favorite new New York City singer-songwriter"
From the Boston Herald
"Literate but not pretentious, emotional but never cloying, inevitable but neverpredictable, Bisbee's songs don't wilt in the spotlight, but flourish." - K Convey
From the New York Post
"Sam Bisbee's latest, 'Vehicle,' is full of pleasant surprises." - Mary Huhn
From Magnet Magazine
"By mid-morning, the alert cranium needs a solid pop fix. Vehicle aims straightfor the jugular with sets of fully realized, grandiose tuneage." - Fred Mills
From Amplifier Magazine
"Songs about cars, suburbia and love gone badly never sounded so fresh. - D Gray

Amazing CD, catchy hooks and interesting lyrics!
author: DeEnna WisdomAmazing CD, catchy hooks, interesting lyrics and simply a lot of fun! This CD is my guilty pleasure of the summer. I heard "Ready to Get Ready" on the series Windfall and immediately had to go to the computer to find out who was singing that song! I purchased all of Sam Bisbee's albums and love them all!
He's done it again.
author: Louie MannCatchy melodies. Unforgettable hooks. Vocals bordering alongside something out of "Vehicle", bringing us back some of that "Cubicle Love Song" flavor we'll never tire of hearing. Once again, another successful album. Thanks Sam!
