notes
Bilvox is an indie singer-songwriter blending post-punk and folky pop/rock, with samples and U.K. influences. Bilvox first appeared on the Boston music scene in 2002 as front man of the band "The Spark". He cut his teeth playing Boston's bars and working up to Boston Music staples as Great Scott, The Abbey Lounge, and Kirkland Cafe. Since the band's demise he has gone it alone, Honing his songwriting, performance, and craft while friends fill in where needed. Bilvox's heartfelt lyrics balance both imagery and poetry while echoing those of traditional pop music. The chiming and lyric guitars are haunting and catchy amongst the backdrop of the melodies. The music is Boston and America's answer to the movement that blends poetry, folk, and post punk rock while adding a groove or "hips". He belongs to the movement that such acts like Travis, Coldplay, David Gray, and U2 ride. Bilvox finds his own voice coming from somewhere much different than any typical local band; all you have to do it take a listen or see a live performance to understand.
Bilvox's music has been called:
"haunting and exquisite..."
"truly excellent and haunting..."
