notes
I began my musical career while in high school. Started out as singer and song writer. Learned to play the bass so that I could work with other groups as a sideman and harmony singer. The first song I wrote was recorded by Hawkshaw Hawkins, a grand Ole Opry star. That song is included as the first song on this CD. In 1957 I went to work for Jim Reeves as a bass player. In 1958 I did a record for the Brunswick Label. The titles are Schoolhouse Rock and I Wanna Bop. A few months later I cut two songs for Chet Atkins on the RCA Victor label. However, Chet did not release the record. I quit the business soon after that.
A few years later I did get back into the music business and I continue today to write songs and work in bands as a singer and musician. This current CD of mine consist of songs that I have written. I like to think of this CD as Country Music with a patriotic and gospel tone. Most of the songs tend to be about issues we are dealing with in America at this time.
