Billy Cook, the songwriter, the vocalist, and producer was born in Atlanta , Texas . He was raised on Houston ’s southside and he graduated from Jones High School . Billy began his career in the music industry at the age of 17 and was featured on the RAP-A-LOT RECORD’S, artist Big Mike’s, “Something Serious” album that went gold. This collaboration opened the door for Billy and he began to work with other artists that included Fat Pat,Chamillionaire, Devin The Dude, 8-Ball&MJG, Bun-B, Scarface, Do or Die, and Twista. Their collective efforts resulted in several gold and platinum albums. Billy has also released and been featured on several underground projects and collaborated with other artists such as Trae, Z-Ro, Paul Wall, Mike Jones,Slim Thug and Juvenile. He has appeared on tours, from coast to coast, with the Isley Brothers, Juvenile, Destiny’s Child, Carl Thomas and Ashanti to name just a few. In 2005 Billy performed the half time show for the And 1 Mixtape Tour in Houston , Texas . Billy headlined a tour in Japan in July of 2006 with the Japanese rapper AK69. He is scheduled to tour, again, in Japan in 2008. Billy received the 2006 Southern Entertainment Award for Best R&B album of the year. In September 2006 Billy released his third solo album entitled “The Truth” featuring Chamillionaire, Bun-B, Hawk, Trae, C-Note, Mr. 3/2, Archie Lee and others. Billy also released a new Christmas album called “Peace On Earth” in 2006. During the months of October and November 2006 Billy appeared at several college campuses and travelled to Mississippi Valley State , Jackson State , and Grambling University with LeToya Luckett, Dem Franchize Boyz, Young Dro, Yung Joc, Trae, Urban Mystic and DJ Unk. On July 3, 2007 Billy opened for Ne-Yo at the George R. Brown Convention Center in Houston , Texas . His song ‘Lights’(Good Life) from the “Living My Dream” album is featured on the soundtrack for the movie “Urban Justice” starring Steven Sagal. The film is scheduled to be released on November 14, 2007. He has participated in the DJ SCREWFEST in Houston , Texas for the past 2 years. In the Fall of 2007 Billy headlined a show at On the Bayou supper club in Houston . The opening performers were Eddie Cain and Reggie Jamz. In 2006 and 2007 he also sang at the Burger King 3 on 3 Basketball tour in Houston , Texas . He sang the national anthem, at the Toyota Center , for the Houston Rockets home opener on November 3, 2007 to a full house and rave reviews!
