notes
For years, Billy Barnes' friends - especially the great women "Divas" - have asked him to write specialty material just for them, catered to their personalities and often to their own lives. These wonderful, funny songs could only be heard you happened to be in the nightclub or theater audience at the time ... until now.
Ten extraordinary performers have gathered together to record these theatrical gems for the first time:
Eileen Barnett - From her time on Days Of Our Lives comes the musical romp "Soap Opera" and we also hear the story of why on earth she moved to "The Valley".
Kay Cole - Originating the part of Maggie in A Chorus Line made Kay the perfect choice to record two "Dance" songs originally written for Juliet Prouse.
Carole Cook - One of Broadways, television and film's funniest ladies tells us about "My Life" and why she's "The Queen Of Equity Waiver"
Nancy Dussault - The star of TV's "Too Close For Comfort" sings about being part of a career navy family in "Captain's Daughter".
Kathleen Freeman - She appeared in more movies and TV shows than she could list on her resume, but someone was always asking her, "Are You Somebody?"
Jane A. Johnston - Broadway star Jane shares a celebration of men's "Buns", a lament about the stinginess of "Nouvelle Cuisine" and a hymn to cosmetically getting "A Little Lift."
Karen Morrow - Karen's own amazingly big voice and her journey to becoming a Broadway star inspired "Show Voice."
Barbara Sharma - This Laugh-In star informs us that she's a "Naughty Little Girl" and then she and Kay Cole sing the title song from their off-Broadway revue "Always A Bridesmaid."
BJ Ward - Before starring in Stand Up Opera, BJ made an often hysterical living doing "Voice Overs" and shares the experience.
Jo Anne Worley - Bombastic Jo Anne from Laugh-In blames it all on her "Inner Child" and then duets with Billy himself to show us what often happens in Show Biz to "A Great Idea"

Wonderful
author: Scott ReynoldsI listened to the samples on the website and had to buy. How fun! I love the songs and I love listening to the ladies singing them (and the composer too). Guessing who the artists were was almost as entertaining as the songs themselves.
- author: Tamara Turner, CD Baby
These specially written cabaret songs for these tell-it-like-it-is, smart mouthed women will split your sides open with honesty and frankness from what a woman really wants in a man (we're talking body parts) to pop psychology humor of blaming the "inner child." These fun, irreverent songs dance through every day stories, hang-ups, idiosyncrasies and, well- real life. After all, if you can sing and dance about the day-to-day realities whether they be mundane or painfully embarrassing, every day feels a little more livable.
