My Own Eyes Will Not Let You Down!
author: Keith KondrichIn the pantheon of genuine rock & roll heroes, you'll find Tom Petty, Van Morrison, Bob Dylan, Bruce Springsteen, and. . . . .Bill Toms. Tom's second release, My Own Eyes, touches on the spectrum of emotions that make us human – from despair and suffering to hope and victory & from loneliness and heartache to love and joy. It’s all here in the lyrics, melodies, and arrangements. Plus, this album is just plain fun to listen to!
- author: Pgh Tribune Review
Pittsburgh Tribune-Review: "Musically, Toms and Hard Rain are solid throughout, never straying far from blues-based rock 'n' roll. Two songs stand out - the anthem-like title track (that Tom Petty would be glad to own), and "Smithfield Cafe", an intoxicating, dreamy mood piece that also benefits from Toms' best writing". "When Toms sings Thirty years gone, thirty years down/Down another road that's going nowhere, desolation and solitude never sounded so good.
