notes

This long lost material has been buried in the closet of The Balloon Man since 1971. Actually, you cannot call it lost since hardly anyone ever heard this material, even back then. It was intended to be a series of one minute syndicated radio shows but no Program Director ever bought them. Who would? It was too weird for commercial radio. Bill Morrison, The Balloon Man, whose nightclub career had a brief upward bleep, after he added The Twisted Balloon Eel and The Four Balloon Left Hand Launch, to his act -- thought he might make a bundle with these recorded bio-vignettes. He was wrong but he was right to do them; they are unique, literary, funny and puzzling. They are an audio discovery of the first rank. Somewhere between the musings of Jean Shepherd and the rants of R. Crumb's Mr. Natural lies... the world of The Balloon Man.
