Big Bandemonium represents the best of modern traditional music. The band takes music to a new level of fun, with some of the best groove you’ve ever heard in your life! Big Bandemonium has three fiery fiddles, a driving three piece horn section of sax, trumpet, and trombone, PLUS guitar, piano, and bass. When you hear them you won't be able to sit still. Big Bandemonium compels you to dance and to laugh.
Formed by Lise Brown, on tenor sax and flute, Big Bandemonium features the best contra dance musicians and a horn section that puts Latin, swing and jazz into reels, jigs and waltzes. Lise writes most of the arrangments for the band, and her arrangements are striking in their originality and rhythm. Additional arrangements by Keith Murphy and other band members also leave audiences screaming for more!
Big Bandemonium is a favorite in New England, and has been featured on WRSI (The River) "Local Heros"; WFCR "Folk Talk" and NPR "Open Mic" (All Songs Considered). See their review in the Summer 2005 issue of "Sing Out".

Big Bandemonium
author: Lin GoetzAt DanceFlurry 08 in Saratoga, spent a wonderful evening contradancing to Big Bandemonium's music. Terrific blend of traditional and swing. I hope they put out a new CD soon, with their rendition of Puttin' on the Ritz (my favorite from that evening at DanceFlurry). This band is perfect for dancing!
Fun and unique music!
author: RubyI bought this CD on a friend's recommendation and I love it! The music is interesting and beautiful with a nice range of tempos and styles. I love the mix of big band instruments with folk music tunes. Great for contra dancing!
