notes
Betty began yodeling at the age of four and by five was singing in her parents western band. Her clear high notes were an early indicater she had a natural yodeling voice.
When Betty Adel was nine years old she received a mustang colt for Christmas. This was her first love. They grew up together and the love became mutual. Betty and her sister Drena, Nancy and friends rode their ponies over the desert and canyons of Owyhee County, Idaho. The wide open country was a good place to perfect her yodeling voice.
By sixteen Betty was singing Pop, Blues, and Clasical music, as well as ountry. She fit in with any band and in any hall.
She soon started out with her own band, traveling from Hawaii to Nashville, Texas to idaho, performing at rodeos, state fairs, for politicians including then Governor Ronald Regan. She billboarded at the Golden Nugget in Nevada and did a long tour in that circut.
At the rodeos and fairs she opened performances for Mil Tillis, Barbara Mandrel, Reba McEntire, Pat Boon family, Estis and others. All her song's are origionals, written by Betty Adel and Helen Nanney. Betty's songs on this CD reflect her love for the trails she rode on her horse, and her love for God, the deserts and mountains in all their beauty, and the people she enertained along the way.

"Betty Adel" Lyrics and music, original, in part:
___
Cowboys and Rainbows like all of Betty's songs, has soul.
Rainbows stand high on her horizon as beauty, and promise.
She combines all three characteristics to define a cowboys life.
Her singing has the sounds of the Classic Western swing, Blue Grass, and Country.
COWBOYS AND RAINBOWS
V-1: Kick off your boots cowboys, toss me your hat
The hard trails be-hind, you can thank me for that
Hold out your arms, you can fill em with me
But I'm not for-get-en a cowboy is free
chorus:
Cowboys and rainbows don't carry no gold
They'll show you their colors and capture your soul
And if it starts rain-en they'll promise the sun
When you start toward them, there fast on the run
