notes
"The six-piece all-female combo set their often serious lyrical messages to joint-jangling funk, reggae and rock grooves and soaring vocal harmonies" - Rave mag
"Check your inhibitions at the door and prepare yourself for the sensory explosion that is the Bertha experience" - Entertainer
Ever seen an all-woman funk reggae ska outfit? If your answer is no then you haven't seen Bertha Control... In the two and a half years since their wailing screaming berth, Bertha Control have earned their reputation as a fresh and funky outfit making tidal waves across the Brisbane music scene and beyond.
This posse of vibrant femmes gets audiences shakin it with their infectious tunes... but Bertha doesn't stop there, taking musical performance to a whole new level, with their wild get-ups, dance moves, theatrics and wicked sense of humour.
Bertha's notorious line-up consists of Mona Verdour on vocals and recorder, Fretmaster Flawless on vocals and lead guitar, CC the Cat on vacals, guitar, flute and keys, MaTHRILLda on sax, Patty Bom on drums and rhymes, and JC Nimble-Fingers Bassey on bass, rhymes, and sweet harmonies.
Bertha's first full-length album, "Out of Control", recorded by George's Pauly B, and sure to sell a truck-load, will be launched at the Zoo in December 05. Catch the girls on their Out of Control tour at 10 venues from Brisbane to Sydney in January 2006.

Simply love this CD. A great blend of harmonies with intelligent lyrics.
author: Davina Jones - Dykes on MykesBertha Control have done a great job on this CD. Recording 19 tracks in 19 hours is a feat in itself - let alone getting the quality of sound and spirit of their personalities... From the sweet sounds of 'where are the people' to the ska inspired 'happiness,' you will never be bored with this album in your collection.
