notes

the second album in a trilogy, this was the dream record. Literally, it came to be written after a dream about my mother who had passed away many years ago when I was fourteen. It centered around her being a recording artist of iconic proportion. She was alive and well and making music which I could hear while driving in a car studying the liner notes of the album package. The dream was timely in that I was dealing with hard questions in my life and somehow the experience left an imprint of personal clarity. The first of my solo albums to encorporate a classic production courtesy of the Chamberlain organ of Patrick Warren(fiona apple) and the fine bass playing of Justin Meldal-Johnsen (imarobot, beck), this record reminded the latter of Nick Drake. Ironically, I had never heard of Drake at the time of it's recording. Check it out in the song clips to see what you think. The music shows little evidence of being recorded in moderm times and don't be afraid of the spooky story either. If you like the seventies singer songwriter's such as Tim Buckley produced by Paul Rothchild or Blue era Joni, this record might arouse you.
