notes
Bergers with Mayo, later also know as The Renovators, was the trio of Bob Mayo (electric guitar), Ted Hemberger (drums), and Al Hemberger (bass).
Bob Mayo toured and recorded with Peter Frampton, Aerosmith, Foreigner, Robert Plant, Dan Fogelberg, and Hall and Oates. Tragically, Bob died of a heart attack on Monday, February 23rd, 2003 while touring with Peter Frampton's band in Basel, Switzerland. He was 53.
Bob was unique. I do not know of another musician who could sit at a keyboard and blast through hours of music calling tunes, singing and leading the band, and at any moment stand up and grab a guitar and rip through another set of songs with finesse equal to any of the greats. We were honored and lucky to play with him. It was in the small clubs and not on the big stages where you really got to hear the extent of Bob's truly huge talent. Recorded 12/7/91, Live at Pete's captures one night of Bob's fantastic guitar playing in this classic rock trio format: electric guitar, bass, drums and vocals.

The Berger Brothers, Ted Hemberger on drums and Al Hemberger on bass and vocals, played with Bob for many years. Ted worked with him in several bands even before Bob did the legendary Frampton Comes Alive tour. They have made a name for themselves recording and playing throughout the Northeast USA. They own and operate The Loft Recording Studios in Bronxville, New York, hosting such artists as Rihanna, Kelly Clarkson, Ruben Studdard, Rod Stewart, Christina Aguilera, Jessica Simpson, Britney Spears, NSYNC, Richard Shindell, Debbie Davies, John Hammond, Pete Seeger, Sue Foley, Deanna Bogart, Southside Johnny, Procol Harum, Robin Trower, Dave Koz, and The Skatalites.
