Album Notes

BELLA Biography In a recent Scratch Magazine article, it was declared, “Female emcees are becoming an endangered species.” Not according to Louisiana born, Cleveland raised newcomer BELLA, with her high-quality versatile lyrics mixed with fresh banging beats influenced by both the east and west coasts . While most females on the mic get caught in either using only sex tales for expression, or lose their feminine energy by attempting to be harder than their male counterparts, BELLA’s style comes off as a classy mature woman who can party with the best of them, but still clever and skilled enough to expand her lyrical content to cover topics about the struggles of life, relationships, personal growth, and world affairs. Think the 2007 version of a Queen Latifah, combined with the sassiness of Left Eye, and the sexiness of Eve. Put all this together and you have BELLA, a female with substance, dept, and an infectious personality and voice. BELLA first touched the stage in Cleveland as a model for local TV shows, print ads and state beauty pageants. In 2001, as a featured female voice for Universal rap group 216, BELLA gained experience opening major concerts across the US for people like 50 Cent, Nelly, and BET’s Black College tour. BELLA soaked up exclusive game and enjoyed the unique opportunity to learn tips from studio session with producers like Wyclef Jean and Scott Storch. Building off this experience, BELLA began blazing local mixtapes in Cleveland, collaborating with Big Keyz from Money Tree Entertainment, Phatty Banks, and lighting up the streets in Cleveland, Detroit, Philly, and ATL with songs like “Do What it Do” The Missing Link is what's missing in Hip Hop today..The female voice with something more to say than just sex. Real life..Real Issues. Fro songs like My Own 2, to No More Runnin' Bella has something to say. She still likes to party too, but in a classy way...Check out Bodysweat to see how she gets down...Enjoyable..Cool. Mature and Fresh. For more info log on www.myspace.com/bellahiphop

I like "All day" "Flows up" "Clevland Bred" to me, those are the songs that showed your lyrical capability. You have good song selection too.I know you are fighting with being atrractive and ryhming in a sport that's male dominant, but let's be real it does help but you seem like you have the qualities to do it all Keep that team around you yall seem to work well together. I wish you luck. Peace!

Self-proclaimed "natural born diva" does so truthfully, without regret
author: John Book, Music For America
What is The Missing Link? When it applies to hip-hop, Bella believes she knows what it is, and perhaps she could very well be a part of what's missing. Her self-released, 11-track album is one of those that should be getting a lot of attention on lyrical merit alone, but the year isn't over so there's time. What I like is that during the choruses, it sounds typical of a lot of today's hip-hop, where hooks and catchiness is often more important than anything else. However, Bella is about "anything else", as one can hear in "Flows Up", "What U Lookin' At?", and "Girl Stunt". She puts herself up to the test by initializing contact with the listening in "My Own 2": What you know about being a mama with three sons Homicidal ex-husband walking with guns This ain't no bootleg flick, real chick on the mic Hip-hop version of Mary, this is "My Life" I been through it all, but I refuse to fall And it's more to me than big tits and my sugar walls Look deeper, come close to the speaker D
