SAAZ TIH AWAAZ brings to you a combination of vocal and instrumental folk music of Kashmir. Chakr a genre of folk music which is recorded in this CD is performed both in villages and urban areas. The texts of chakr are most often mystical poems and are also performed during Sufi meetings, particularly in the Qadri order.
The instruments used in Kashmiri folk music are string as well as percussion. The string instruments are Rabab and Sarang.The percussion instrument is the tumbaknaer.
