notes
“I wanted this CD to have a ‘live feel’ – like at a cozy little jazz club from the old days. The traditional trio – piano, bass & drums – is the core of the sound which is enhanced by the fine solo work of the horn players. I hope that the mood takes you to a place where your worries melt away and the music is all that matters………oh, and don’t forget the martinis!” Marty Beech
Marty began playing keyboards and singing in various bands as a teenager. He graduated from school dances to the booze hall/beer joint circuit before settling down to raise a family. His musical tastes mellowed in time and he developed a love for jazz and swing. He credits his mother and her extensive collection of crooners – her favorite, Ol’ Blue Eyes, of course – for the evolution of his vocal style. Ten years ago Beech, his wife and two children, decided to move onto their sailboat and start a new life in the U.S. Virgin Islands. Beech landed a gig in St. Thomas at a benefit concert which, surprisingly enough, featured the music of Frank Sinatra. This opportunity opened many doors for Beech and introduced him to the local music scene. Marty Beech currently performs regularly at a variety of venues on St. Thomas and St. John.

Summer Wind
author: Carole HayesFrank Sinatra always knew the best songs to record and so has Marty Beech. Great backing on this disc; I especially love Sam Skelton's tenor sax & flute and Bob Lewis' trombone. Anyone who a fan of Frank's will love this disc. Bright and Breezy, a feel good disc.Marty has the ideal voice to do justice to the memory of Old Blues Eyes. I look forward to his next disc.
