notes
Blues music aint always sad. Sometimes it's feisty, funny, sassy, serious, silly, witty, and yes, even sexy.
Women have been writing, singing and recording blues songs since the Roaring Twenties and here are 28 of the very very best, from 1924 to the present.
Some of these songs are pure sexy fun -- like Slow Motion Sally (she does it in the alley), and Looks Don't Make No Difference in the Dark. Some are sexy advice -- like Keep It to Yourself, and Wild Women Don't Have the Blues. And some are just sexy -- like One Hour Mama, Need a Little Sugar in My Bowl, and I Can't Quit That Man.
Some songs are about situations -- like Listen Horny Mama (if a gal tries to steal your guy), Send Me a Man (if a gal get dumped), and Move It on Out of Here (dumping a guy).
Some songs dealing with serious issues -- like Don't Want No Man Hittin' on Me.
And some songs are suggestions for living well -- like Don't Overdo Nothing, Keep Your Nose Out of My Business, and Be Bodacious.
Hey, life can be fun, but life is complicated.
Life can be fun, but life is challenging.
Life can be fun -- and fun, witty, sassy, sexy music can help!

Yep, sassy!
author: Blue Kath5I love the songs! Great singer, too, but I really love the songs. Confident, funny -- a great collection. Most of them are new to me and I'm glad to know them.
For classic blues lovers
author: Przemek Draheim, Polish Blues & Gospel Radio Host, www.blues.pl/I'm just listening to Be Bodacious’ album and I can't help but fall in love with this lady’s singing. Sometimes it's smooth, sometimes expressive but it's always so true to herself. Her interpretations of classic songs are tasty and her original songs are so catchy. If you like classic female blues singers do yourself a favor and get this CD, you’ll enjoy it!
