"Veterans of New York City's Underground, Marti and Paul now appear as the heavy art post punk lounge act, Beaut. Their unsettling vision of life in the shadows is alternately seductive, horrific, amusing and claustrophobic.
Using little but Paul's processed electric guitar and Marti's bizarrely entrancing vocal stylings, the couple paint a portrait of a world rife with black eyes, lobsters, suicide notes, murders, sadomasochism, smoldering cigarettes and prostitution.
And yet it is not a report from a tough and hardened narrator; rather it is with a wide-eyed and child-like normalcy that the details of their world are revealed. Beaut cling to aesthetics like a life ring in a sea of madness."
